The 43-year-old Tarver made a slow start, being pushed around by Kayode and never allowed any form of momentum as the Nigerian challenger mixed up his shots.

Tarver worked his way into the fight, however, landing a couple of huge lefts in the eighth and ninth rounds to leave Kayode looking shaken.

But the 29-year-old stood his ground and, by the 10th, had worked his way back into the bout before ending the stronger of the two fighters, landing shots to the body and head of Tarver in the 12th.

But ultimately it was not enough for Kayode to snatch the win with the fight being scored 115-113 to Tarver, 115-113 to Kayode and 114-114 for the draw.
