MIDDLESBROUGH have made four changes from the defeat to Coventry at the weekend with Hayden Hackney handed his first league start for tonight’s game against Birmingham City.

The 20-year-old midfielder has previously made four appearances for the club but makes his first Championship start. He takes Alex Mowatt’s place who drops to the bench.

The suspended Isaiah Jones is replaced by Paddy McNair with Anfernee Dijksteel pushed further up to wing-back. Matt Clarke drops completely out of the matchday squad with Ryan Giles being restored back to the line-up whilst Chuba Akpom replaces Duncan Watmore in attack.

Leo Percovich takes interim charge of the team tonight for the visit of the Blues assisted by Craig Liddle, Mark Tinkler and Lee Cattermole.
