Team of the Week: Dominant Derry

Team of the Week

GK: Tim Krul (Newcastle United)

Both Krul and Norwich counterpart John Ruddy excelled in the clash at St James' Park, but the Dutchman was marginally the better of the two, making some superb saves.

RB: Rafael da Silva (Manchester United)

The Brazilian right-back claimed an assist and kept Matt Jarvis quiet as United put Wolves to the sword at Molineux.

CB: Grant Hanley (Blackburn Rovers)

A lot of credit has gone to Rovers' attackers for their rise out of the relegation zone, but Hanley has stepped into the breach following the departures of Chris Samba and Ryan Nelsen.

CB: Thomas Vermaelen (Arsenal)

Match-winner at one end and spotless at the other for the Gunners, another crucial performance from the Belgian has lifted Arsenal up to third in the table.

LB: Martin Olsson (Blackburn Rovers)

Two Blackburn defenders in team of the week? You better believe it. The Swedish left-back impressed as he kept Sebastian Larsson at bay in the win over Sunderland.

RM: Antonio Valencia (Manchester United)

A goal and two assists for the Ecuadorian winger who was fantastic throughout, even with the mitigating circumstance of Wolves being down to 10 men for more than half the match.

CM: Shaun Derry (Queens Park Rangers)

The gritty midfielder grabbed a crucial goal – his first in the top flight - to haul his side back into the match against Liverpool and was the driving force behind a remarkable recovery.

CM: Gylfi Sigurdsson (Swansea City)

The Icelandic midfielder continues to excel, scoring twice at Fulham in Swansea's 3-0 win. The decision to take him on loan in January looks shrewder with every passing week.

LM: Jean Beausejour (Wigan Athletic)

An excellent performance from the Chilean, who showed unlimited reserves of energy. It's just a shame his eye-catching crosses were not put to better use by Wigan's forwards against West Brom.

ACM: Samir Nasri (Manchester City)

City fans have been waiting for the France midfielder to deliver a performance like the one he put in against Chelsea ever since he arrived at the club, and his cool finish sealed a vital win over Chelsea.

FW: Javier Hernandez (Manchester United)

The Mexican striker's brace put the gloss on United's win over Wolves, and included a classy finish to round off an excellent move for his second and his team's fifth of the game.
