Team of the Week: Super Mario

Super Mario

(Team formation: 4-3-3)

GK: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid) - Expert 7, Users 7.1 - The Spain international put in a commanding performance in between the sticks and could do nothing about Zoran Tosic's goal.

RB: Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea) - Expert 7, Users 7.2 - Thundered Chelsea's winner into the roof of the net in injury time to seal a famous win.

CB: John Terry (Chelsea) - Expert 7, Users 6.6 - Another Chelsea name on the scoresheet but was also solid at the back. Still a force to be reckoned with.

CB: David Luiz (Chelsea) - Expert 7, Users 6.9 - An uncharacteristically assured display at the back as he and Terry kept Napoli's feared attacking trident largely in check.

LB: David Alaba (Bayern Munich) - Expert 6, Users 7.1 - The young Austrian was composed at the back and supported Franck Ribery well on the Germans' left flank.

RM: Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich) - Expert 9, Users 7.7 - The Dutchman was lively, indeed instrumental in Bayern's 7-1 crushing of Basel. Scored early and late on.

CM: Toni Kroos (Bayern Munich) - Expert 8, Users 7.1 - The midfielder played his part in the demolition job at the Allianz Arena, and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet himself.

LM: Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich) - Expert 9, Users 7.8 - A masterful performance by the Frenchman, who terrorised the Basel defence and, like Robben, deserved his standing ovation.

FW: Didier Drogba (Chelsea) - Expert 7, Users 7.3 - After a slow start Drogba grew into the match and grabbed a goal and an assist to lead Chelsea into the quarters.

FW: Mario Gomez (Bayern Munich) - Expert 10, Users 7.8 - Standing out in a host of excellent performances was the Germany international, who delivered a stunning four-goal showing.

FW: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) - Expert 8, Users 7.1 - An outstanding performance from the striker who has now netted 42 times this term.
