Tecia Torres Puts Undefeated Record on the Line at UFC 188

The UFC women's strawweight division is just getting started, but the promotion's first 115-pound bout in Mexico has already been announced.

UFC officials on Monday announced that Tecia Torres would put her undefeated record on the line against fellow unbeaten fighter Angela Hill as part of the UFC 188 fight card on June 13 in Mexico City.

The card already boasts a headlining heavyweight title unification bout between current champion Cain Velasquez and interim beltholder Fabricio Werdum, as well as a co-main event pitting former Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez against former Bellator titleholder Eddie Alvarez.

Torres (5-0) and Hill (2-0) both made their way into the UFC as part of the cast of the twentieth season of The Ultimate Fighter. The show was a tournament that featured only incoming strawweight fighters with Carla Esparza emerging as the victor and first UFC 115-pound champion. Torres had been considered one of the favorites coming into the show.

While both Torres and Hill lost bouts to Esparza along the way, the fights on The Ultimate Fighter are considered exhibition bouts, so they don't count towards their professional records.

Each woman has one official UFC bout to her credit, as each fought on the The Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale at the show's conclusion. Torres won a unanimous decision over Angela Magaña, while Hill got the nod over Emily Kagan.
