Teenager in hospital with serious injuries after 'stabbing' - police launch appeal

A teenager has sustained serious injuries after being “stabbed” on a residential street.

The 19-year-old was taken to hospital on Friday evening following the incident with a police cordon in place around the street.

Emergency services including Air Ambulance were called to the scene. The incident is being treated as isolated.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “We’re investigating a reported stabbing which occurred in Sutton Avenue, Peacehaven, around 5.30pm on Friday 19 May.

“A 19-year-old man from Brighton sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

“We are treating this as an isolated incident with no threat to the wider community.”

A police cordon was erected around a section of Sutton Avenue, with personal belongings inside the tape.

An air ambulance was also involved in the incident response with the helicopter landing near The Dell in Peacehaven.

No arrests have currently been made in relation to the incident.

Kent, Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
