Weymouth Town Council has issued a warning to visitors of Weymouth Beach this bank holiday weekend as temperatures are set to rise.

The council is urging people to stay safe in the sun and to put all litter in bins or take it home with them.

Temperatures are expected to reach 20C over the weekend and it is anticipated hundreds of tourists will visit Weymouth Beach and other beaches across Dorset.

Weymouth could see high temperatures of 19, 20 and 18 degrees respectively on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

A Weymouth Town Council spokesperson said: "The Beach team are looking forward to welcoming visitors over the coming bank holiday weekend. The weather looks set to be glorious and we are asking everyone to look after themselves and our beautiful beach.

Weymouth Town Council has advised visitors to:

  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water

  • Protect your skin by using sunscreen and staying in the shade

  • Put all your litter in a bin, or bag it and take it home with you

  • Let the Resort Team know if you need any help or advice

  • Enjoy our wonderful beach!
