According to reports, Erik ten Hag is a ‘big fan’ of Barcelona target Ruben Neves and Manchester United are ‘making a final push to sign’ the £50m-rated Wolves player.

The Portugal international has played over 200 times for Wolves since the start of the 2017/18 campaign.

Neves has been a shining light for the Premier League side over the past few seasons.

The midfielder has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Man Utd ahead of this summer. Wolves are believed to value him at £50m. He is under contract until 2024.

The Sun are reporting that Man Utd ‘are on the verge of making a final push to sign’ him.

Ten Hag is a ‘big fan’ of the 25-year-old and it is said that United ‘have been tracking’ him ‘for the past twelve months’.

Man Utd had a £35m offer rejected for Neves in January, but they are ‘looking to go again in the next couple of weeks’.

It is also stated that Barcelona ‘could snatch Neves away’ with Champions League football being a ‘big pull’. Ten Hag is keen to sign Neves, with him being the manager’s ‘number one midfield target’.

Elsewhere, Sadio Mane has revealed that he “forgave” Jurgen Klopp before he snubbed Manchester United and signed for Liverpool in 2016.

“I have to say, I was really close to going to Manchester United,” Mane said.

“I had the contract there. I had it all agreed. It was all ready, but instead I thought, ‘No, I want to go to Liverpool’. I was convinced to go with Klopp’s project. I still remember the first time I got the call from Klopp.

“I was watching TV. It was an action movie – because I love movies – and he said, ‘Sadio, listen, I want to explain to you what happened at Dortmund’. That was when he thought of signing me for Dortmund and for some reason it didn’t work out. He tried to explain and I said, ‘it’s okay, it happened’. I forgave him.

“Then he said, ‘now I want you at Liverpool’. And I said, ‘Okay, Dortmund is behind us, let’s focus on the future’. He said, ‘We have a big project at Liverpool and I want you to be part of it’.”
