Murray, who beat Novak Djokovic in the final last year, is currently ranked number five in the world, but moves up to third for the championships in SW19, meaning he cannot meet any of the 'big three' until the semi-finals.

World number one Djokovic is the top seed, with Rafa Nadal at two and Roger Federer four.

Wimbledon is the only one of the four Grand Slam tournaments that doesn't adhere to the world rankings, instead relying on a formula based on grass court form over the past couple of years.

Therefore Stanislaw Wawrinka, ranked three in the world, slips to fifth seed, while Feliciano Lopez moves from his ranking of 25th to 19th seed.

In the women's draw, Serena Williams is the top seed, with French Open champion Maria Sharapova at five, and Australian Open winner Li Na at two.
