The Rush: Tagovailoa declares for NFL Draft...Welcome Tua, Miami?

WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE to see today’s piping-hot, fresh-outta-the-oven episode of THE RUSH with Jared Quay! We’ll let you know everything you didn’t know you needed to know about sports. Other stuff too. But mostly sports.

It’s Tuesday, January 7, 2019, and here’s what Jared’s cooking up:

  • Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa declared for the 2020 NFL Draft, foregoing his senior year despite missing most of this past season with a hip injury.

  • The Cowboys signed former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy to a 5-year contract just a day after finally putting Jason Garrett out of his misery.

  • Joel Embiid gruesomely dislocated his finger in the first quarter of the Sixers game against the Thunder on Monday, but returned to play in the second quarter. #Hero

  • Twelve years after winning the 2008 Slam Dunk Contest while wearing his iconic Superman cape, Dwight Howard announced he will compete again in 2020.

  • Kenxton Perkins, the 8-year-old son of former NBA big man Kendrick Perkins, is the star of a viral video showing him schooling other second graders on the basketball court.

THE RUSH will be back tomorrow. Until then, check out archived episodes here.
