'There's no secret of that' - Barry Ferguson backs Rangers move for Scotland star
There always seems to be a handful of players that certain clubs are always interested in.
The Old Firm sides perhaps best exemplify that, and as of late Rangers fans have been craving an experienced midifielder to join the Ibrox ranks — with Kenny McLean often mentioned in the same breath as that wish. The Scotland midfielder, who put in two excellent under-the-radar performances for Steve Clarke’s side over the recent international break has been linked with a switch to Govan and the speculation is ramping up once again. McLean is currenly under contract at Norwich City until 2026, with the option of a further year.
Philippe Clement’s side currently use Nicolas Raskin and Connor Barron, among others, in a double pivot but someone with the know-how, ability, and composure of McLean would be a shrewd addition. Former Ibrox midfielder Barry Ferguson certainly knows a things or two about how to run a Rangers midfield, and think a move for the Scotland cap wouldn’t be a shock at all.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, he said: “He’s learned a lot since his younger days at St Mirren before going to Aberdeen.
“I think he’s come on leaps and bounds since going down to England,"
“There’s no secret of that," he adds, when asked if a Rangers switch could materialise for McLean.
“There was a lot of talk in the summer, and I mentioned that it’s an area of the pitch that Rangers need experience.
“Especially the last two games for Scotland, he stood out.”
