Thierry Henry explains 'easy' Celtic title assumption as Rangers namechecked in Slovan Bratislava assessment
Thierry Henry has suggested Celtic's title challenge is perceived as "easy" against Rangers as he assessed the Hoops' mauling of Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League.
Brendan Rodgers' side showed up well on matchday one as they dismantled their opponents 5-1 at Parkhead to give them their first ever opening night win in the competition. Henry was impressed by the efforts and talent on display in Glasgow but he did acknowledge that Slovan were not at the level of a more traditional Champions League opponent.
The Arsenal and France icon, however, did praise Celts for their victory as he explained how the jump in competition from the Scottish Premiership - where it's considered a two-horse race - is significant.

And that's why Celtic can be proud of their achievements thanks to goals from Liam Scales, Kyogo, Arne Engels, Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah.
“It was a big night because, more often than not, when you are dominating your league, people think it’s easy to win your league,” said Henry. "And they beat Rangers not so long ago. It’s easy, whatever they say.
“They had an opportunity to play against a team that I think was, let’s put it this way, not the best. It’s a great start, to play against Bratislava at home, no disrespect to Bratislava. The way you started, it’s a great way to be able to have three points early doors.”
