Brentford boss Thomas Frank has given a brutally clear response when asked if Bryan Mbeumo could leave the GTech Stadium in the January transfer window.

The Bees boss was asked about the future of the 25-year-old forward with reports linking Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United with the Cameroonian winger. Mbeumo has impressed once again for the London-based club, with 13 goals and two assists in 21 games for Brentford this season.

Newcastle are in the market for a right-winger with there serious doubts over Miguel Almiron's future at the club, with the Paraguayan linked with a return to Atlanta United this month. Eddie Howe's side have been linked with a number of targets this month, but transfer expert Ben Jacobs claims the Magpies are the only club to have made a concrete offer for Mbeumo.

Speaking to the United Stand, Jacobs said: "Brentford don't want to sell, that's the first thing. Newcastle are the only club that have made any concrete approach - No bid but they're looking at Mbeumo over the summer."

Chronicle Live understands that Newcastle United's head of recruitment Steve Nickson was in the stands for Brentford's 2-2 draw with Manchester City.

However, the Bees are said to have slapped a £50million asking price on Mbeumo, making a deal difficult for interested parties this month and it's clear Frank has no sign of parting with his star man.

When asked if Mbeumo could leave the GTech Stadium this month, Frank bluntly said: "No. So, very easy to answer that question!"

Newcastle have made their stance clear this month, players need to leave before they can reinvest into Howe's squad and bolster their push for a return to the Champions League. The Magpies moved up into fourth after their win over Wolves, moving a point clear of Chelsea in fifth.
