BRADFORD could soon be getting its first branch of Canadian coffee and doughnuts chain Tim Hortons – new plans have revealed.

An application to install signage for the food chain at a site on Manchester Road has been submitted to Bradford Council.

The new branch would be located at the junction of Manchester Road and Mill Lane, just outside the city centre.

The site has most recently been used as a car sales lot – and earlier this year plans to open an Enterprise Rent A Car on a section of the site were approved.

The proposals say the signage plans, which include a large totem sign, will accompany a separate application – for a drive-thru restaurant and coffee shop on the remainder of the site.

That application has not yet gone live on Bradford Council’s planning portal.

The Canadian firm is known for its coffee and baked goods – particularly doughnuts.

After little presence for years, the company has recently expanded in the UK.

Tim Horton opened its first local branch in Birstall in 2021, and a branch is planned for a multi-million pound new retail development in Keighley, which is also due to include a larger Aldi store for the town.

Work is due to start on that site this year.
