Tim Tebow records third multi-hit game — could he earn a promotion?

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said Tebow deserved to the promotion since he has improved in low-A ball.

Tim Tebow seems to be getting into his baseball groove.

The Heisman Trophy winner has been on a hot streak the past few days, including hitting his first career triple Wednesday while going 3 for 4 for the Columbia Fireflies.

The result? Tebow's batting average is up to .246. However, In the past six games, Tebow has had three multi-hit games while batting an impressive .450 (9 -for 20).

"There are some guys who do really good who get taken away from me halfway through the year," Fireflies manager Jose Leger said, via The State. "Then there are guys that get taken away really early. It is hard to predict when it happens. A lot depends on what is happening in the level above. Whenever they decide it, he will be ready. He is just working hard, and we are going day by day."

So could Tebow be in line to earn a promotion? There is speculation he could be boosted to the High-A Port St. Lucie Mets, but that likely won't happen for a while.

According to The State, the Mets have a long-term plan for Tebow and will continue to monitor his improvement.

"He has been able to get his foot down on time, working on his timing, and it is finally paying off. He is more consistent," Leger said. "When you get a couple hits and find that rhythm at the plate, your confidence also grows. That is what has been happening."
