17:45 Epsom: Winners Wear Cavani Handicap (7 furlongs)

Only a hampered run-in prevented Clochette from marking her debut last year with a win, but she soon went one better when leaving ten rivals in her wake at Ascot last July.

A step up to a mile was a big ask on her season debut in a listed event at York two weeks ago, and connections have quickly reverted to a shorter trip here.

Oisin Murphy retains the reins and will be sure to coax the best out of her, and she looks likely to progress further now in the handicapping sphere. Suggested best bet: Clochette each-way in the 17:45 at Epsom

Further down the market, the veteran of the field is the eight-year-old gelding, Spanish Star, who carries top weight under Rhys Clutterbuck and has garnered some each-way support on Tipstrr.

This seasoned campaigner showed no signs of his years when landing a seven-runner handicap at Goodwood early this month, and he quickly backed that up with an equally impressive run to finish a close-up second behind Haymaker at Windsor 11 days ago.

He is clearly in prime condition to keep this form going, and with as many as five places up for grabs in this 13-runner renewal, Spanish Star appears to offer great each-way value at a double-digit price.
