The New England Patriots weren’t even at full strength when they dismantled the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. All-Pro wideout Antonio Brown will join the team for Week 2, giving Tom Brady yet another dangerous weapon in the passing game.

That’s provided Brown can get up to speed with the Patriots offense in time to contribute. In order to ensure that transition happens quickly, Brady met with Brown on Monday.

The 42-year-old Brady came away impressed with Brown, as ESPN explains.

"Antonio, meeting him today, I really enjoyed being around him," Brady said in his weekly Westwood One interview that aired Monday night. "He's a very smart football player, knows how to play the game. He's been extremely productive."

There is visual evidence the two got together.

Brady also confirmed that he opened his doors to Brown as Brown gets acclimated to New England. Brady downplayed the significance of that gesture, however, saying he’s invited plenty of players to stay with him over the years.

Brady stressed the importance of getting on the same page with Brown as soon as possible. Brady promised even more meetings with Brown, pointing out they don’t have an offseason to get things figured out.

"I'm not buying into any hype or potential. I'm into work,” Brady told Westwood One. “He's into work and our entire offense is into doing what's in the best interest for the team. I'm really excited to get to practice on Wednesday."

While there are concerns about Brown after he forced his release from the Oakland Raiders, Brady and head coach Bill Belichick have downplayed the notion that Brown could mess with team chemistry.

Brown will get his first opportunity to show off his skills in practice Wednesday. If he can get on the same page with the Patriots’ offense quickly, Brown could make a major impact when the Patriots take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 2.
