Tom Brady's cryptic tweet sparks panic among fans

Tom Brady set the social media world ablaze and sent the rumour mill about his football future into overdrive when he hit send on a tweet on Thursday night.

Pouring gasoline on the immense gossip that already exists, the six-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots tweeted a single image of himself walking in the tunnel of a stadium.

Is he retiring? Is he leaving the Patriots? Is he staying in New England?

Only time will tell, but this one tweet certainly moved the needle and inspired loads of reaction online.

If Brady does drop the next hottest album, you have to wonder about the upcoming Eli Manning diss track.

Mere days away from Super Bowl weekend, the attention has shifted from the upcoming showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, directly to the three-time MVP.

In a sort of cynical way, the tweet could just be Brady announcing a new business or collaboration.

But there are also the recent rumours of Brady’s wife Gisele looking at schools in the Tennessee area, sparking the NHL’s Nashville Predators to partake in the viral conversation.

Next thing you know, Brady is going to have his own tent at Bonnaroo and be a regular guest at the Grand Ole Opry.

As a symbolic cherry on top of this social media fiasco, the verdict is that Boston is really going to suffer as a sports town in the next couple of weeks.

The MLB’s Red Sox are reportedly moving on from outfielder and former MVP Mookie Betts. Losing both Brady and Betts in such a short period of time might send Boston into a hopeless spiral. The city might have to wait several months for its next championship.

Brady’s reason for posting the ambiguous tweet is still unknown, but it certainly set off alarm bells throughout the social media world.
