Tom Holland has weighed in on Spider-Man 4's delay in production.

Earlier this week, Sony Pictures producer Amy Pascal gave an update on the status of the next MCU Spidey movie, revealing that it will be going ahead – though the writers' strike has put plans on hold for the moment.

Responding to the news, Holland confirmed that he has been having meetings for a fourth movie, though things are at the "very, very early stages" as things stand.

"I can't talk about that, but I can say that we have been having meetings," he told Variety. "We've put the meetings on pause in solidarity with the writers. There's been multiple conversations had, but at this point it's very, very early stages."

In her original comments about the franchise's future, Pascal explained: "Are we going to make another movie? Of course we are. We're in the process, but [with] the writers' strike, nobody is working during the strike. We're all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we'll get started."

The current Writers Guild of America strike is campaigning for better residuals from streaming, with scripts not being written during the strike, while existing scripts cannot be rewritten either.
