Tom Lawrence targets Rangers cup glory as holders determined to keep their trophy
Tom Lawrence insists Rangers desperately want to embark on another glory run to the Premier Sports Cup Final.
The holders make their long-awaited return to Ibrox tonight as they battle it out with Dundee for a place in the semi-finals. Lawrence, 30, bagged the winner against Dundee United last weekend and believes Philippe Clement's side are making small steps towards reaching their top levels after a difficult start to the campaign.
He said: "Every cup you're in you want to win, and that's what we aim to do this year as well. We've got more of a target on our backs now with us being the holders. But we enjoy that and we've got to embrace it, and we've got to win another cup.

"We need to put a run together. You can't get too far ahead of yourself, and it's game-by-game now. There's room for improvement, don't get me wrong. I feel like I'm coming into good form now. I want to make that continue.
"It was a pretty long international break, and we wanted to put on a performance and get three points. We played well last week and it should have been more. But now this is big for everyone.
"When you win a game, the confidence flows throughout the team. Going back to Ibrox, hopefully this is just a small step in the long run of games now. We go out to win every game, and it will be the same for this one.
"It's in a different competition, but we've got to look forward to it. Dundee are a good team. We know every time we play them it's going to be a tough battle."
