Toronto goalkeeper Irwin out 4-5 weeks with hamstring strain

Irwin suffered the injury in the first half of Friday's scoreless draw with Sporting KC.

Goalkeeper Clint Irwin will miss 4-5 weeks with a hamstring strain, Toronto FC announced Sunday.

McNamara forcing NYCFC's hand

The 28-year-old was substituted in the 40th minuteof Toronto's 0-0 draw with Sporting Kansas City on Friday, after he injured himself making a save. Alex Bono replaced him and is expected to start for TFC for the duration of Irwin's recovery.

Bono played 16 games in 2016 while Irwin recuperated from another leg injury, and started in TFC's lone victory so far this year.

Toronto's next match is at home againstexpansion side Atlanta United on April 8.
