Tottenham have reportedly agreed a £25m deal for Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma.

Spurs have been linked with the Mali international for some time and were said to be interested in securing a deal in January.

MAILBOX: Are Arsenal settling for being a finishing school like Ajax and Dortmund?

Bissouma is entering the last year of his Seagulls deal and would be the north London club’s third signing of the season following the arrivals of Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic, with Middlesbrough full-back Djed Spence also expected to move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Times claim Spurs are confident personal terms will not be an issue, with Bissouma set to arrive for a medical this week.

Brighton signed Bissouma from Lille in 2018 for £15m and his high energy game has had him tipped to move on to bigger and better things ever since.

Liverpool and Arsenal have been linked in the past, while Aston Villa reportedly failed with a January bid for the 25-year-old.

The report claims Bissouma is expected to partner Rodrigo Bentancur in midfield with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp remaining as alternatives for Antonio Conte, who is willing to let Harry Winks leave the club this summer.

Bissouma was arrested last October under suspicion of sexual assault and released under investigation before playing for Mali in the Africa Cup of Nations. He’s waiting on the outcome of the police investigation.

Meanwhile, Son Heung-Min’s father has told the Spurs star to join “one of the world’s top clubs” to become a “world-class player”.

“He must work harder and make more progress,” Son Woong-Jung said.

“If he is satisfied with what he has achieved now, crisis is on the way. He must always try to do better to stay in the best form, don’t you think?

“Instead of being happy to stay where he is, I always want him to be 10 per cent better… he must be able to play a solid role in one of the world’s top clubs. That’s when he will become a world-class player. He scored a lot of goals this year, but it doesn’t mean he will do the same next year.”
