Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino 'always learning' as he turns focus to next season

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino says he is "always learning" as he turns his focus to next season.

Spurs secured their best-ever Premier League finish this term, which means the north Londoners will also ply their trade in the Champions League during the 2017-18 campaign.

Pochettino has been key to Spurs' upward trajectory since taking charge three years ago and is widely regarded as one of the most promising managers in world football.

But the Argentine coach is determined not to stand still as he attempts to propel Spurs towards silverware ahead of what could be a crucial summer transfer window, with several key players the subject of interest from rival clubs.

"I think that every day I am improving. Our philosophy, we are always hoping to improve and to learn," he told Tottenham's official website.

“Now it’s time for many players to have the responsibility of working with their national teams and for us, to start to work for next season.”

Spurs' first-team squad spent the last week in Hong Kong, which culminated in Friday's 4-1 victory over local side Kitchee SC.

The north Londoners have a fledgling fanbase in the Far East and Pochettino was delighted to receive such a warm welcome.

“It was such an excellent way to end the season. That was a special time to share with our fans.

“The fans are amazing and I thank them all for their support and for their warmth. It is something we will all remember forever.

"We were made to feel so welcome and we’ll always be grateful," Pochettino added.
