An official decision is yet to be made on the Italian coach, but even if he isn’t sacked in the coming days, he looks set to depart Spurs at the end of the season regardless.

Indeed, with Conte’s contract at the London club set to expire in June, it is believed that Levy had already begun drawing up a shortlist of potential replacements.

One of those was former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, however, it seems he is about to replace Julian Nagelsmann as the new manager of Bayern Munich, so he is no longer an option.

Interestingly, Nagelsmann is now also being heavily linked with the Tottenham job, with various reports naming him as the current favourite to replace Conte.

Despite this, Levy would allegedly prefer to poach Frank from Brentford, but that may prove to be difficult, especially midseason.

‘Incredible’ Frank has transformed Brentford

This is according to a report from the Daily Recordwho claim that Frank is now Levy’s ‘favourite contender’ to replace Conte, despite links with the likes of Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino and Eintracht Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner.

They add that the 49-year-old has been a ‘smash hit’ for the Bees since joining the club in 2018.

When Frank took over almost five years ago, Brentford were a mid-table Championship side. Since, he has led the club to their first-ever stint in the Premier League and could secure a historic European qualification place if things continue going well.

Indeed, the London club currently sit in an impressive eighth place in the league table, just seven points adrift from fourth-placed Tottenham.

Frank has gained widespread praise from members of the media, as well as from rival Premier League managers thanks to his team’s progress.

For instance, in a recent interview, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for the Dane.

Klopp said: “The football they play is incredible and the organisation is incredible so Thomas and Brentford is doing an incredible job.

“They show even with less money you can create something really special.”

Tottenham could certainly do with a transformational coach like Frank at the helm, after failing to win a major trophy since 2008, despite spending plenty of money on players recently.

As mentioned, it may prove difficult for Levy to convince Frank to leave Brentford, but, he is clearly a huge fan of his, so this could be one to keep an eye on as Conte’s future continues to hang in the balance.
