Ange Postecoglou is facing a significant Son Heung-min dilemma for this afternoon's Premier League clash against Manchester United. The Tottenham captain played 71 minutes in Thursday's 3-0 Europa League triumph over Qarabag, though his early departure looked to be because of a possible injury.

In the wake of Dominic Solanke scoring Tottenham's third goal, after reacting quickest to Son's effort that was saved, the South Korea international was captured in a heap on the floor. Physios quickly entered the pitch before it was decided no risks would be taken and he would be replaced by Timo Werner.

Under 24 hours later, Postecoglou was asked for an update on Son before Spurs' trip to Old Trafford at the weekend for a Premier League clash against Man United. "I think obviously it is still early days from last night, he admitted in a press conference.

"Fair to say the boys are fairly tired, the ones who put in a shift. Apart from Sonny everybody is okay and Sonny I don’t think is too bad. He wants to train tomorrow and we will see how it goes and make a decision from there. We have another day up our sleeve to give him every chance."

With Spurs vs United as one of the final games of the weekend, Son has ample time to recover from the issue that left him stricken at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this week. However, he remains a huge injury doubt for the clash with it unknown if Postecoglou will risk him for such an important game.

In terms of potential replacements, with Wilson Odobert injured, Werner is the most natural option but both Brennan Johnson or Dejan Kulusevski could fill in if needed. The Germany international made his Spurs debut in this exact fixture last year and picked up an assist for Rodrigo Bentancur's strike that levelled the game at 2-2.

However, if Son is deemed fit and available it will come as a huge boost with Tottenham perhaps inadvertently hinting he will be involved. On Instagram, promoting the fixture, Spurs posted their pre-match graphic and right in the centre alongside Pedro Porro, Johnson and Kulusevski, is Son.

Being included in such a graphic, often hints at a players' involvement and therefore that could be good news with Son among the four stars included.

However, it has since been revealed that Son has not travelled to Manchester which certainly suggests he will not feature.
