Tottenham and Everton are reportedly interested in signing Rodrigo Becao this summer and the same outlet reveals how much he will cost.

Becao is a centre-back who began his career at EC Bahia in his native Brazil. He left South America in July 2018 by joining CSKA Moscow on a season-long loan deal.

Becao made 36 appearances for the Russian club, helping them to finish fourth in the league and win the domestic super cup.

His loan switch wasn’t made permanent and the 26-year-old went on to join Udinese in summer 2019.

Becao is now part of Udinese’s core group, having played 36 times in the recently concluded season.

He put in some top performances in Italy and even captained Udinese on several occasions from February onwards.

According to Italian source Tutto Udinese, Becao is one of the players who could leave the Stadio Friuli after an impressive campaign.

And it is Tottenham and Everton who hope to snare the Brazilian defender, the report claims.

Rodrigo Becao could follow Kulusevski, Bentancur lead

Tottenham continue to scout Serie A for talent due to Fabio Paratici’s networks. The director of football spent 11 years working for Juventus and therefore has great connections in Serie A.

Spurs have bolstered Antonio Conte’s ranks with the signings of Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from Juve. Now Becao looks set to follow them to north London.

The report provides little insight into how or when a transfer to the Premier League may take place. But it does state how much Udinese will demand.

They want £17million for Becao. This would help them make a big profit as the star only cost £1.4m when joining the Italian side three years ago.

But it’s an understandable asking price given his importance to the Udinese first team.

£17m is an achievable fee for Spurs. They spent £42.5m when landing Cristian Romero from Atalanta last summer. But fans may want a player with Premier League experience for Becao’s price.

Everton are less likely to spend that kind of money. They need to be careful after flirting with financial fair play regulations recently.

The Toffees have spent far too much on players who have failed to deliver. As such, they now need to invest more intelligently.

The only way Everton could sign Becao for £17m is by selling one of Richarlison or Dominic Calvert-Lewin first. This would give Frank Lampard funds to improve other positions, too.

Meanwhile, three teams from the same country are eyeing up Spurs man Japhet Tanganga, according to one journalist.
