South Korea boss Hong Myung-bo has revealed that he has not yet decided whether Tottenham captain Son Heung-min will play a part in his national team's clash against Kuwait on Thursday.

The 32-year-old has suffered with hamstring issues this season, missing games against Manchester United, Ferencvaros and Brighton before the last international break, as well as matches against AZ Alkmaar and Crystal Palace afterwards.

While he has since returned to action, grabbing an assist in the 4-1 win against Aston Villa before playing the full 90 minutes against Ipswich Town at the weekend, the national team look to be maintaining some caution when it comes to Son's fitness.

Son's team sit top of Group B in the Asian Football Confederation's World Cup Qualifiers following three wins and a draw from their opening four matches, and face Kuwait and South Korea over the next week. However, Son has not yet faced a full training session with his national team ahead of the game, with his manager stating that a decision would be made following their final session before the match.

"He reported to camp a day later than others, and he focused on recovery during yesterday's session," the manager told reporters. "After today's training session, I will sit down and speak to him about tomorrow's match.

"I can't comment on his availability at this moment. I will make that decision after the session today."

Spurs will be hoping their captain arrives back in fighting form with a trip to face Premier League champions first up upon the return of domestic football, which is followed by a home clash against Roma in the Europa League.

After that it is a full calendar all the way until the new year, with a Carabao Cup quarter-final against Manchester United added to the mix for good measure.
