Antonio Conte will have the chance to begin reshaping his squad and accelerate Tottenham’s rebuild in January.

Conte has spent his first two months in charge closely assessing his players before delivering his recommendations to Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici.

Spurs are in the transfer market for a new forward and right wing-back who can offer more in the final third than Emerson Royal, with Matt Doherty among the players who are free to leave as part of the rebuild.

The club is expected to consider offers for Dele Alli, with a loan exit most likely.

However, Dele offered a timely reminder of what he can offer in the recent draw with Liverpool and Conte has challenged him the make the performance a “starting point” – suggesting he could still have an unlikely Spurs future.

Harry Winks was desperate to leave next month when Nuno Espirito Santo was in charge but has impressed Conte, and is now likely stay put.

Joe Rodon is expected to push for a move, most likely a loan, in order to play more football, with Newcastle and Brighton tracking the centre-half.

Steven Bergwijn is another player available to leave for the right price.

As for targets, Spurs have long been linked with AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, who is a free agent in the summer and known to Paratici and Conte.

Paratici earned a reputation for snaffling bargains at Juventus, so is likely to be eyeing a number of cut-price options during a notoriously difficult window.
