Tottenham next five Premier League fixtures compared to Man Utd, Aston Villa and Newcastle
Tottenham were unable to capitalise on recent momentum built in the Premier League as they were beaten by Manchester City. Wins over Brentford and Ipswich have come in recent weeks, but they have been clouded by two domestic cup exits at the hands of Liverpool and Aston Villa.
Ange Postecoglou made several changes with Dejan Kulusevski, Son Heung-min and Djed Spence, who all played key roles in the 4-1 win over Ipswich last weekend, named on the bench. City started the game much better and opened the scoring through Erling Haaland on his return from injury, side-footing home a Jeremy Doku cross.
Spurs had chances to equalise in the second half with Wilson Odobert and Son going close. Despite Postecoglou ringing the changes, Spurs were unable to find a way back into the game with City denied a late second by VAR.

Earning a European place for next season through their league position will be some task but there is still 24 points to play for. With that being said, football.london has taken a look at the fixtures awaiting Spurs and some other teams pushing for a top six spot.
Tottenham's next five Premier League fixtures
March 9 vs Bournemouth (H) at 2pm - Premier League
March 16 vs Fulham (A) at 1.30pm - Premier League
April 2 vs Chelsea (A) at 7.45pm - Premier League
April 5 vs Southampton (H) at 3pm - Premier League
April 12 vs Wolves (A) at 3pm - Premier League
Verdict: Tottenham have some big Premier League fixtures to play over the coming weeks. While the Europa League knockouts are also on the horizon, Ange Postecoglou will want his team to at least try and get back into the mix for a European spot through their league position.
Beating teams above them will therefore be key and that starts with a visit of Bournemouth to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. A difficult trip to Craven Cottage is then up next with Fulham having already taken points off Spurs in their visit to north London.
Despite another away game being up next, Tottenham remain in London as they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The Lilywhites will be strong favourites for their next game as they host Southampton having already beaten them 5-0.
The following week, Wolves face Spurs at Molineux with Vítor Pereira's in much better form and looking for another positive result against Postecoglou.
