Goals either side of half-time from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Harry Kane put the hosts in control but Aleksandar Mitrovic’s late strike gave Fulham hope.
Spurs also had goals by Heung-min Son and full debutant Richarlison disallowed for fractional offsides in a dominant performance.
Dan Kilpatrick was in N17 to rate the home players...
Hugo Lloris 7
Twice clawed away deflected Mitrovic efforts in the second half but could not get behind the striker’s superb curling finish. Suffered one hairy moment playing out but other otherwise untroubled.
Cristian Romero 6
Weak in a 50:50 with Mitrovic for the striker’s goal, but Spurs were more assured at playing out from the back with the Argentine returning to the right of the back-three. Booked in the first half.
Eric Dier 7
Dealt well with the aerial threat of Mitrovic in a calm display. Should probably have hit the target from Richarlison’s cross early in the second half.
Clement Lenglet 8
An accomplished debut. Brought the ball out of defence well and committed when he had to defend.
Emerson Royal 6
Involved in the build up to Hojbjerg’s goal but wasted some fine openings on the right with wayward final balls.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg 7
Dug the ball out of his feet and finished superbly to give Spurs the lead. Earlier set up Richarlison with a trademark scooped pass and worked hard off the ball.
Rodrigo Bentancur 8
Caught the eye on his return to the side with his composure and slick one- and two-touch passing. Perhaps you don’t realise what you have until it’s gone.
Set up Kane’s goal and Richarlison’s disallowed effort, and nearly scored against his former club with a well-saved effort. He is starting to deliver in the final third.
So unlucky to have a goal disallowed for a fractional Sessegnon offside but played his part, setting up Spurs’ opener with a clever one-two with Hojbjerg after winning possession high up the pitch. Could have finished with a goal and further assists in a fine full debut.
Heung-min Son 7
Far more involved in a much-improved display. Had a goal disallowed for a Kane offside, struck the bar in a lively first half and saw an effort saved by Leno.
Harry Kane 8
His sharpest performance of the season, including another goal. He also tested Bernd Leno with a low effort and set up Son superbly, only for the Korean to strike the bar.
Dejan Kulusevski (Kane 78’) 6
Some bright moments down the right after sparing Kane’s legs for the final 12 minutes.
Ivan Perisic (Son 84’) 6
Too late to make an impact and must now sense real competition from Sessegnon.
Not used: Forster, Doherty, Skipp, Sanchez, Tanganga, Davies, Bissouma.
