Tottenham send quartet of outcasts to train away from first-team as club await late transfer bids

Unwanted Tottenham stars Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Sergio Reguilon and Harry Winks have been banished from the first-team and are training individually, as the club continues to look for buyers before the end of the transfer window.

The quartet have been working alone and at separate times from the rest of Antonio Conte's squad since the club returned from their pre-season tour of South Korea, having been told the head coach can only work with a certain number of players.

Spurs are trying to offload the four but there is an acceptance that their futures are unlikely to be resolved until the final week of the transfer window, and possibly on deadline day.

Ndombele and Lo Celso - the club's record signings until this summer - are attracting interest from Villarreal, where the latter spent the second half of last season on loan, but Spurs are yet to receive a bid for either midfielder.

There is also interest in Lo Celso from Fiorentina, but both Villarreal and the Italian club prefer a loan, with Spurs aiming to offload the Argentine international permanently.

Ndombele has been offered to Newcastle by his representatives, although Magpies boss Eddie Howe is understood to be unconvinced by the Frenchman.

Winks' situation is being monitored by Spanish club Valencia but there have so far been no bids for the England midfielder, with interest from Everton and Leicester earlier in the summer having cooled.

Reguilon's hopes of returning to Sevilla ended when the LaLiga club signed Manchester United's Alex Telles on loan, while Brighton have expressed an interest in the Spaniard as a replacement for Marc Cucurella, who joined Chelsea.

Spurs could also allow Bryan Gil to leave on loan to continue his development, with Valencia and Real Sociedad in talks for the 21-year-old, who is training with the first-team squad and was on the bench on the opening day. Gil spent the second half of last season on loan at the Mestalla.

Pape Matar Sarr is in the same position while Japhet Tanganga could be sold for the right fee, and has been discussed by AC Milan and other Italian clubs.
