Tottenham superstar offered to Real Madrid in sensational move that could send star other way
Tottenham have reportedly offered Harry Kane to Real Madrid, as they don’t want to see him play for another Premier League side, and Eden Hazard could go the other way.
Kane has been one of the best players in the Premier League for basically his entire top-flight career. After a good first few seasons which some thought were flukes, he’s shown himself to be a deadly asset over a prolonger period.
The Englishman is now second on the all-time Premier League goals list. Indeed, he’s bagged 211 times – 49 less than record-holder Alan Shearer.
That Spurs have been a competitive side for much of Kane’s time there has no doubt helped him to reach those heights. A Tottenham side with Kane in it has finished in the top four on five occasions.
This season has been a rough one for the north London outfit, though. They’re eighth in the Premier League and could be beaten to the last European football spot by Aston Villa, with it having already been confirmed that Brighton will finish above them.
While Tottenham have regressed, Kane has gotten better. His tally of 28 league goals this season – more than a third of Spurs’ all season – is the third-most he’s scored in his career.
As such, he’s now becoming a big fish in a small pond, and he’s being heavily linked with a move away from Spurs.
Manchester United appears to be the most likely destination, with multiple reports suggesting they’ll go after him this summer.
Kane ‘offered’ to Real Madrid
However, how likely that move is to go through is another question. Indeed, Spanish outfit Cadena Ser suggests Tottenham ‘would like him to play outside of the Premier League’.
That makes sense, as they won’t want to strengthen a direct rival while making their own team weaker.
That report also states Kane ‘has been offered’ to Real Madrid, who are ‘considering’ the offer. The report suggests Kane would command a fee of €80-100million (£69-87million approx).
It’s likely the fee would actually be higher than that. While Kane’s only got one season left on his contract, it would be a surprise if a player of his quality, in the form he is in, would go for less than £100million.
Kane unlikely to want to join Real
Real do reportedly have ‘doubts’ because of ‘how bad’ the signing of Hazard, a former Premier League superstar, has panned out for them.
However, the report states Hazard could have some bearing in the transfer. Indeed, it’s believed he could be of interest to a Premier League side.
How likely Spurs are to take Hazard on board as part of the deal is a question in itself. He’s not been fantastic for Real at all, and they’d likely want to steer clear.
With that being said, it seems unlikely Kane would want to move to Real anyway. He’s within touching distance of the Premier League goals record and moving to another country will be furthest thing from his mind.
If Spurs don’t want to sell him to another Premier League side, he could just wait out his contract at the club. There’s only a year left, and it’s not as if he hasn’t been in good form despite those around him not pulling their weight this season.
