It’s no secret that Tottenham are after a creative midfielder this summer and they have a few options on the table right now.

James Maddison has been continuously linked with a move to North London, but they would face stiff competition from elsewhere.

The Leicester City playmaker has been linked with the likes of Newcastle and Manchester United as well as Spurs. He is also expected to cost in the region of £60million.

Tottenham are sensible enough not to put all of their eggs in one basket and so they are also considering alternative options for this role.

Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White has been mentioned as a player of interest. According to the Daily Mail, they are keeping tabs on the 23-year-old.

The former Wolves midfielder only joined Forest in the summer, but the club could be forced to sell if they are relegated. As things stand, Forest are 18th with four games to play.

Gibbs-White has been one of their standout players throughout the season. With four goals and six assists, he has been involved in 33% of Forest’s goals in this campaign.

He has also been the club’s most creative player, creating 59 chances for his teammates this year. For context, Maddison has created 62 chances this season.

The Forest playmaker signed on a five-year deal in the summer in a deal worth up to £42.5million, including add-ons. However, they will have to listen to offers if they are relegated this year.

In their four remaining league matches Steve Cooper’s side take on Southampton, Chelsea, Arsenal and Crystal Palace.

Tottenham need several additions

Along with signing a creative midfielder, Tottenham also need to sign a handful of other players. Sorting out the defence and goalkeeping position also remains a priority.

Manchester United’s Dean Henderson and Brentford’s David Raya are among the goalkeepers they are currently considering.

Raya has had a fine season for Brentford and has kept three more clean sheets than Hugo Lloris this season. The Spanish goalkeeper also boasts a superior save percentage than that of Lloris.

Henderson has spent the season on loan with Forest, but he has not played since January due to injury. A permanent move away from Old Trafford seems likely for the goalkeeper in the summer.

Elsewhere, Spurs are also on the hunt for a defender or two. The same report mentions Wolves defender Max Kilman as another player of interest for Spurs.

Only five Premier League sides have conceded more goals than Tottenham have this season. Having already conceded 57 goals, this needs to be addressed in the summer.

Kilman has done well this season for Wolves as he has started in every league match so far. The 25-year-old has emerged as a leader of late and Wolves would likely demand a large sum for his services.

The defender is contracted at Molineux until 2026, with the option of a further year. Lyon defender Castello Lukeba has also been under consideration of late.
