Tottenham have been told why a Juventus star ‘would score between 30 and 35 goals’ if he was playing under Antonio Conte in north London.
Spurs were heavily linked with Serbia hotshot Dusan Vlahovic in the summer of 2021 as concerns continued over Harry Kane’s future at the club. However, the forward eventually ended up joining Juve in a £66million deal 11 months ago.
Things have taken a turn in Turin though as a financial crisis leaves them crippled.
Football Italia reports that The Bianconeri are now facing three separate Financial Fair Play investigations, with exclusion from the Champions League one potential punishment if they are found to have broken UEFA rules.
President Andrea Agnelli and vice-president Pavel Nedved have also resigned from their posts in a traumatic week for the club.
And the rapidly evolving situation has led to rumours of top stars also being sold.
One of those players who could be moved in is Vlahovic, with former Torino and Bari star Massimo Brambati claiming he would be a perfect fit working under Conte.
Brambati told Tuttomercatoweb: “Under Conte, he would be at least five or six kilograms less and, in a season. He would score between 30-35 goals, given his style of play.
“We saw it with (Romelu) Lukaku at Inter.”
Indeed, Lukaku enjoyed the best spell of his career under the Italian at Inter.
The Belgian scored 64 goals in two seasons for the club as they won their first title in a decade in 2021.
Juventus star built for Premier League success
Vlahovic, who is physically very similar to Lukaku, has notched seven goals in 15 games for Juve this term.
However, there are fears that Max Allegri’s style of play is not getting the best out of the Serbian.
Vlahovic is on his way home from the World Cup after Serbia’s group-stage exit. And while he scored in the 3-2 loss to Switzerland that ultimately decided their exit the 22-year-old has also been in the news for other reasons.
The striker was forced to deny a claim that he’s been having an affair with a teammate’s wife in Qatar, a story that hit the headlines in the build-up to the Swiss clash.
Meanwhile, one of Vlahovic’s former Fiorentina teammates has also been excelling for Morocco in Qatar.
Former Tottenham target causing World Cup stir
Sofyan Amrabat, who has been one of the star’s of the tournament so far, was also mentioned as a Tottenham target when all the Vlahovic discussions were taking place.
And his brother, former Watford winger Nordin Amrabat, has talked up Sofyan’s chances of a big move.
He said: “I am really incredibly proud of Sofyan. If you play so well on such a stage, then you have a lot to offer.
“I think that the top clubs in Europe that have been sleeping have now been shocked.
“In January, Sofyan was already around Tottenham Hotspur, but there was no agreement on the transfer fee with Fiorentina. I think the interested (clubs) will now be queuing up.”
One club who are said to be keen is Liverpool, who are on the hunt for new midfield recruits.
Amrabat was available for around £12m last January, although that figure could well have doubled after his displays in Qatar.
