North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal have been alerted to reports that Atletico Madrid attacking sensation Joao Felix could be up for sale this summer.

The 22-year-old Portuguese has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League again in recent weeks, with Antonio Conte having the nod over Mikel Arteta due to Spurs securing Champions League football next season.

It was thought Atletico had made Felix untransferable, however, it appears that Diego Simeone has had a change of heart.

According to BarcaTimes, the young forward’s agent is already in contact with a number of clubs, with PSG mentioned.

The report adds that if a suitable offer comes in then Atletico will not stand in Felix’s way.

The Daily Express adds that Spurs are ready to offer Giovani Lo Celso as a makeweight in any deal. The Argentine’s current value is said to be around £34.4m.

And with Felix rated at £103.7million by the CIES Football Observatory, that means Tottenham coughing up an extra £69.3million to get their man.

Tottenham renew interest in Atletico man

Felix was heavily linked with a move to north London back in 2019, prior to his £114million switch.

And when speaking about the potential of eventually playing in England, he said: “I don’t know, maybe one day.”

The striker’s current contract runs out in 2026 and he enjoyed his best season at the club in 2021-22.

Felix notched eight goals and four assists in 24 LaLiga games before an injury ended his season in April.

Simeone previously stated that the player was more than happy in Spain, amid rumours of a big-money exit.

The Argentine said: “Joao Felix meets what the team needs. We have a way of working with the forwards. He’s doing very well, he’s happy, enthusiastic and it’s very important on an individual level so that he can later move on to the collective, which is what matters.”

However, it appears that Simeone has since had a change of heart, giving Tottenham hope for a deal.

As for the Gunners, they will struggle only offering Europa League football and are expected to continue their pursuit of Gabriel Jesus.

Felix not quite a perfect Conte fit

While Joao Felix is a tremendous talent, it’s tough to see where he fits into Antonio Conte’s side.

The Portugal international is best deployed centrally and could play as more of a No.10. However, that would mean Conte moving away from his favoured 3-4-3 and using more of a 3-4-1-2 formation, with Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min leading the line.

That would then leave the impressive Dejan Kulusevski on the sidelines, which would be a harsh call.
