Tottenham have held talks with AC Milan over a double loan exit including Japhet Tanganga, and Sky Sports believe these deals will be a sign of things to come.
Spurs’ tally of summer first-team additions swelled to six upon confirmation Djed Spence had arrived from Middlesbrough. Fabio Paratici and co have bought both well and early, something that emerged was a directive from Antonio Conte.
The Tottenham boss wanted the bulk of their business on the arrivals end wrapped up early. That was with a view to integrating each new player into his system during pre-season to ensure a fast start can be made when the games matter.
Spurs’ squad is now filled to the brim, though if Paratici gets his way, the fringe elements will soon be trimmed.
The Evening Standard listed eight names Tottenham are open to axing before the window slams shut. One player included was centre-half, Japhet Tanganga.
The 23-year-old has emerged as a loan target for AC Milan and both Fabrizio Romano and Sky Sports have provided an update on proceedings.
Romano tweeted Paratici recently met with his Milan counterparts in Italy to discuss a Tanganga loan.
Sky added the talks were ‘positive’ and any deal could include an option to buy after the 12-month loan concludes.
Second Spurs player to join Tanganga in Milan?
Also on the chopping block is midfielder Pape Matar Sarr.
The Senegalese joined Spurs from Metz last summer, though was immediately loaned back to the Ligue 1 club.
Romano noted a potential loan move for Sarr was also discussed between Paratici and the Milan board, though negotiations on both fronts are not advanced as yet.
Sky reaffirmed the bulk of Tottenham’s business in the coming week will revolve around exits. In their words, a ‘streamlining’ process will soon ramp up.
Who else could leave?
Four stars whose futures look destined to lay away from north London are Harry Winks, Sergio Reguilon, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso.
The quartet were all left off Tottenham’s pre-season tour of South Korea and are all available for transfer.
Elsewhere, Bryan Gil is even more surplus to requirements following Richarlison’s arrival. Djed Spence has also put the futures of Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal under a cloud.
Spence will likely become the long-term right wing-back once assimilated into Conte’s plans.
The Italian boss has also hinted Lucas Moura could find a new home in the position. That news will not have been greeted warmly by Doherty and Emerson.
