Tottenham will return to Carabao Cup action against Manchester United with a view to securing a place in the semi-finals of the competition.

Last weekend, Ange Postecoglou's side came away 5-0 winners against Southampton on the south coast while United beat Manchester City in dramatic fashion with captain Bruno Fernandes and Amad scoring late at the Etihad Stadium.

Ahead of the clash, Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero have already been ruled out with Destiny Udogie and Djed Spence both doubts. Elsewhere, Rodrigo Bentacur remains suspended.

"I think both (Van de Ven and Romero) will be in the new year," Postecoglou said in his press-conference. "Not as significant an injury as last time with Micky but obviously having a setback the medical team is going to make sure he is right to go.

"Mikey [Moore] is back in training. The next cabs off the rank are Mikey and Ben Davies potentially next week and Richarlison potentially first week of the new year."
