One of a trio of venues to host BT London Live celebrations during the London 2012 Games, Trafalgar Square is sure to generate an amazing atmosphere as the action unfolds.

In addition to the events planned for Victoria Park and Hyde Park, the aim is for people to gather and collectively celebrate the Olympics and Paralympics, with big screens in place at each BT London Live venue and a series of live concerts for fans to enjoy.

In the heart of Central London, Trafalgar Square is of course one of the capital city’s major tourist attractions and meeting points, being just a short walk from Buckingham Palace, Waterloo Bridge, the River Thames and Leicester Square.

The BT London Live celebrations in Trafalgar Square will centre on the events, celebrations and medal ceremonies of the London 2012 Paralympic Games from 29th August to 9th September.

Meanwhile, an interactive Sports Zone in the square will give visitors a chance to experience Olympic and Paralympic sports participation and there will be live music performances each evening.

Of course there will be celebrations in Olympic ‘Live Sites’ in numerous other locations across London, including Potters Fields, Waltham Forest and Woolwich, and the rest of the UK in city centres and beyond – with Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Plymouth amongst the cities joining the London 2012 party.
