Man Utd fancy their chances of landing Harry Kane, perhaps even at a discount, which would be handy since Arsenal are now said to be the frontrunners to sign Victor Osimhen…

ARSENAL LEAD OSIMHEN RACE
There has been plenty of talk over Victor Osimhen’s future in recent weeks while he’s continued to tear up Serie A. The Nigerian striker has 19 goals and four assists in 21 appearances for Napoli this term, helping them to establish a 15-point lead at the top of the table. All the while, Manchester United and Chelsea have been heavily linked with the 24-year-old amid interest too from Real Madrid and PSG.

But Rai Sport has a different take. They reckon Arsenal are favourites to land Osimhen.

The centre-forward has spoken of his dream to sample the Premier League but Napoli will insist on the British transfer record being smashed if Osimhen is to play on these shores next season. The Serie A top scorer is under contract until 2025 and he is likely to cost in the region of £130million.

MAN UTD ENCOURAGED BY KANE RESPONSE
Osimhen is said to be vying for top spot on United’s four-man striker shortlist along with Harry Kane. But the Red Devils fancy their chances of landing the England star.

The Sun says officials at Old Trafford reckon Tottenham will lower their £100million asking price if they fail to land a place in next season’s Champions League. Apparently, United have made contact with Kane’s camp via intermediaries and they have been ‘encouraged’ by the response.

As things stand, Kane is due to enter the final year of his contract in the summer. If Spurs are to finish outside of the top four, United might need a favour from Liverpool, which is maybe what Sunday was all about. Not so much an embarrassing humiliation, but all part of their long-term plan for Premier League domination. Clever Erik.

SPURS EYE SAINTS SKIPPER, EX-ARSENAL STOPPER
Spurs are also making plans for next season, regardless of which position they stumble into come the end of the season.

Football Insider reckons James Ward-Prowse is firmly in their thinking. The Southampton skipper is trying to keep Saints in the Premier League but should they be relegated, then Spurs will make their move. Though they’ll have to get past Villa if they want to sign the England midfielder.

Tottenham also need to consider a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris and Fabio Paratici fancies popping back to Juventus for Wojciech Szczesny. That’s the word according to Gazzetta dello Sport, though it is acknowledged that the ex-Arsenal keeper doesn’t fancy a return to north London. Indeed, the Poland stopper, 33 next month, would prefer to remain at Juve or, if he is to leave, only wants a move to MLS.
