Arsenal continue to be linked with Dusan Vlahovic, while under-pressure Chelsea boss Graham Potter could go back to Brighton for a midfielder…

At Arsenal, the flame still burns bright for Dusan Vlahovic, apparently…

The Serbia striker snubbed the Gunners’ advances a year ago when he moved from Fiorentina to Juventus. Vlahovic has since become a mainstay of the Juve attack with 16 goals and four assists in 36 matches but almost since he hooked up with the Old Lady, rumours have swirled around his next move.

Arsenal have continued to be linked with the 22-year-old and La Repubblica reckons the Premier League leaders will put themselves out there again, with Vlahovic valued at around £98million.

It seems unlikely. The Gunners are quibbling over Mykhaylo Mudryk’s valuation so the prospect of them going all in for Vlahovic seems remote. Even if they did, would Juventus sell? They could certainly use the cash, but Max Allegri’s side have clawed themselves back into the Serie A title race, especially if they manage to beat Napoli tonight. The club’s new board begins work next week and it’s unlikely their first act will be to sanction an exit for their leading marksman.

Graham Potter is having a ‘mare right now. So you can’t blame the beleaguered Chelsea boss for seeking out some familiarity among the flak flying his way right now.

Chelsea have already made four signings, not that any are offering Potter much in the way of immediate respite. Joao Felix looked decent on his debut before he got himself sent off and suspended for the next three matches. The Blues won’t see him for almost a month now.

So Potter could seek solace in his happy place: Brighton. The Guardian says the Chelsea manager could raid his former club once more for Moises Caicedo to stiffen up their midfield.

The Blues have been trying to get a deal done for Enzo Fernandez but Benfica are playing hardball. Potter is also interested in Alexis Mac Allister but a deal for Caicedo might be easier to achieve, with Mac Allister’s value soaring since the World Cup.

It’s a tough time right now for Chelsea managers new and old. Frank Lampard is under similar pressure at Everton while they languish in the bottom three. A defeat against rock-bottom Southampton tomorrow could have dire consequences for the Toffees boss.

If he remains in charge next week, Lampard will continue to chase new players, with Football Insider saying Everton are in the market for a couple of forwards – a target man to cover for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and another more versatile attacker.

The Daily Mail reckons Anthony Elanga could be one of them, which we can believe. Borrowing the Man Utd youngster would be a very Everton thing to do.
