Harry Kane looks increasingly likely to quit Tottenham in 2023 with a major European suitor planning a cut-price swoop, Erik ten Hag saw a move for signing No 7 at Man Utd blocked, while Monday’s Transfer Gossip explains why another departure at Leicester is close.
BAYERN MUNICH MAKE SERIOUS PLANS TO SIGN HARRY KANE
Harry Kane may find a future away from Tottenham amid reports Bayern Munich are making serious plans to sign him in 2023.
The Bundesliga giants were on Kane’s trail this summer once it became clear that Robert Lewandowski was departing. The free-scoring Pole decided to leave Bavaria after eight seasons and sign for Barcelona.
And while his exit leaves a gaping chasm in their side, it doesn’t appear to have effected them too much. Indeed, in just five games this season, Bayern have already smashed in 14 goals.
Bayern’s summer move for Kane, though, quickly died a death. Tottenham are notoriously tricky customers to deal with when it comes to their prized assets. As such, their links to Kane never really got further than that enquiry stage, with Fabrizio Romano explaining why a move did not materialise.
Their apparennt failure comes just a year after Manchester City saw a British record bid for Kane fail.
In the weeks that have followed links with Bayern, Kane is being tipped to sign a new deal. That current arrangement expires in summer 2024. As such, it’s easy to see why Spurs are in a hurry to get an extension wrapped up.
Bayern have cunning Harry Kane transfer plan
However, that delay has seemingly opened the door again for Bayern Munich. As per The Sun, Bayern will try again for Kane in 2023.
They are already trying to dissuade Kane from signing a new deal at the club with a promise they will make a fresh move for again.
With a year left on his deal come summer 2023, Bayern Munich believe Spurs will have no option but to sell the player.
And while he will still command a sizeable fee, the Bundesliga champions reckon a deal will be within reach come then.
When asked by Sky Deutschland, sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic dismissed the links, saying: “It’s too early to talk about it.”
However, both The Sun and Bild reckons a 2023 move to the Bundesliga is on the cards for Kane.
They believe Bayern can tempt him to quit Spurs by their close guarantee to winning trophies. Kane is yet to win anything of any note in his career and is well known to want to win trophies.
TEN HAG SAW MOVE FOR HAKIM ZIYECH BLOCKED
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag saw a summer window move blocked for Hakim Ziyech, per a report.
The Red Devils boss was forced to bide his time to land his targets in the summer. Indeed, their failure in getting Frenkie de Jong done has seen United draw a valuable assessment on their future strategies.
Ultimately, United did land six new signings in a £214m spend. The biggest of those came on the final day, with a £86m swoop for Antony going through. He made an immediate impact, scoring the opener in their 3-1 win over Arsenal on Sunday.
However, it’s now also emerged that a move for Ziyech also failed to go through.
The Red Devils were strongly linked with the Moroccan, who has found game time hard to come by at Chelsea.
The Blues were ready to sanction his sale too. To that end, Tottenham and AC Milan were also linked.
However, it was Ten Hag who pushed hardest for him, having worked with him before at Ajax.
Despite his interest, though, the Manchester Evening News claims the United board blocked the move.
They felt that, with the signing of Antony, Ten Hag had enough options in his attack and attacking midfield without his signing.
Manchester United‘s season is well and truly up and running now. They have won their last four matches and sit fifth in the table.
CAGLAR SOYUNCU WANTS GALATASARAY MOVE
Leicester’s problems are going from bad to worse with Caglar Soyuncu pushing to leave for Galatasaray.
The Foxes sit bottom of the Premier League, having lost five of their first six matches. And Sunday’s 5-2 defeat at Brighton underlines their struggles, particularly in defence.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have already lost Wesley Fofana from their defence this summer. Now they can expect to lose another regular in Soynucu.
He was left out of the matchday squad on Sunday with a move nearing.
And with just a year left on his deal, a move to Turkey beckons. The Turkish transfer window does not close until 8 September, leaving the Foxes vulnerable to his sale.
Now it’s claimed the move has a good chance of going through. Soyuncu looks unlikely to sign a new deal, leaving Leicester likely to cash in.
The 26-year-old has never played in the Super Lig before. He started with Altinordu in the second tier before Freiburg brought him to Germany.
After two seasons in the Bundesliga, Soyuncu secured his Premier League chance with Leicester.
Now, though, after four seasons, a parting of ways is on.
