Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are in a three-way battle to sign PSG attacker Neymar, according to reports on Sunday.

The Brazil international is being strongly tipped to quit the Ligue 1 giants at the end of the season, and it appears that the Premier League is a very realistic landing spot.

The 31-year-old has been an outstanding presence at PSG since arriving in a £200million deal from Barcelona in 2017 and has been on the radar of both United and Chelsea for some time.

But it appears that his time in Paris is coming to a close and that has seemingly led to a mad scramble for his services that City have also joined, as reported in Spain on Sunday.

Neymar is a proven entity in terms of goals and assists. Indeed, he has scored 18 goals and provided 17 assists across all competitions for PSG this season.

United, Chelsea need a true No.9

United are well known to be looking out for a new No.9, which could mean Erik ten Hag pushing Marcus Rashford through the middle permanently and bringing in Neymar to fill the England man’s place on the left wing.

As for Chelsea, their need for goals has been obvious pretty much all season long although Neymar, once again, is not the true No.9 they covet.

City, meanwhile, already have their central striker in place in the form of the prolific Erling Haaland, so adding Neymar to the likes of Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Riyad Mahrez and Julian Alvarez would make them an even scarier proposition.

The report adds that Neymar is open to a move to England, and it could come down to a straight preference of whether he wants to live in London or Manchester.

BAYERN TO DITCH KANE INTEREST AS VILLA TARGET EMERGES

Bayern Munich are reportedly scouting Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins as part of their search for a new striker this summer.

Watkins has been in explosive form in front of goal since Unai Emery arrived at Villa Park in October.

And with 15 goals this season — including one run of 11 in 12 matches — that form has not gone unnoticed both at home and on the Continent.

The Sunday Mirror reports that Bayern had a scout at Villa’s home game with Fulham on Tuesday, although the only goal was scored by Watkins’ team-mate Tyrone Mings.‌

Watkins is currently seventh on the list of top-flight scorers this season, with 14 strikes in the Premier League.

Indeed, only three other Englishman are ahead of him in that list, Harry Kane, Ivan Toney and Marcus Rashford.

New Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel has already identified the need for a new striker with England skipper Kane on Bayern’s radar for some time.

However, both Manchester United and Chelsea are keen on Kane, too, and there’s also a chance that he could stay at Spurs to see out the final year of his contract.

Watkins, 27, has two years remaining on his deal at Villa Park after this season. However, if he fires Villa to a European finish then Villa may end up fielding enquiries from some of Europe’s biggest hitters.

TOP ARSENAL TARGET TEMPTED BY MARSEILLE SWITCH

Wilfried Zaha is continuing to weigh up his options ahead of the expiry of his Crystal Palace contract but is said to be tempted by a move to Marseille.

The Ivorian forward has established himself as one of the Premier League’s top wingers in recent years, often proving to be the Eagles’ talisman in the prime of his career.

However, at 30 years of age, Zaha is considering a future away from Selhurst Park, as reported in 90min.

Sources have reportedly told them that the attacker wants to play in the Champions League and that his representatives have been in talks with Marseille over a free transfer to the south of France.

Marseille currently sit second in the Ligue 1 table, with the top three qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

They are currently eight points behind leaders PSG but only one point clear of Lens in third and six ahead of Monaco in fourth with only six games to play.

Zaha himself is open to a move to France, despite continued interest from Premier League rivals, including Arsenal.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is a big fan of the winger and wants him to provide competition along the Arsenal frontline.
