We did bring you this Man Utd transfer news on Wednesday but we are back again as The Guardian are now on board with the news.
MAGUIRE AND FRED….AGAIN
Well, well. We brought you this gossip on Wednesday when we asked how an Italian journalist might have the inside track on Manchester United transfers. And now The Guardian are ‘exclusively’ reporting pretty much the same story as they claim that Erik ten Hag wants to sell Harry Maguire next summer, even though he knows they will take a hefty loss on their £80m investment.
They claim rather bluntly: ‘Ten Hag admires the player’s professionalism but views Maguire’s sluggish pace as a problem and wants to sell him to add true competition for Varane and Martínez and enhance the quality of the defence.’
There is no talk of potential suitors though Wednesday’s Italian journalist says there is interest from across Europe.
Both reports also claim that Fred’s contract will not be renewed this summer and the £52m midfielder can walk away from the club for nothing.
JOAO FELIX IN?
It is being reported that Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Man Utd in January would ‘pave the way’ for the English club to sign Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix. The Atletico Madrid attacker was one of quite a few players Man Utd were linked with during the summer transfer window.
The Portuguese youngster is also being linked with PSG but Diego Simeone has said: “Joao is one of the players who has scored the most goals out of the forwards we have, beyond the fact that he has three now.
“He has the goal and hopefully he can continue to be with us and that he can perform at the level he has shown so many times playing and to show that he has a goal because we need him.”
CHELSEA EDGE AHEAD FOR ENDRICK
Brazilian child sensation Endrick wants to play in the Premier League, according to ESPN. They claim that the player and his family have been hosted at the Chelsea training ground and met with Thiago Silva. The club are said to be willing to meet his £53m valuation though this is all very early flirting because he cannot actually move until he is 18 in 2024.
They claim that PSG have already made a £40m offer to Palmeiras but this has been dismissed out of hand. Of course it has…Endrick is being watched by pretty much every big club in Europe including Barcelona and Real Madrid. There’s zero chance of him moving for less than his release clause.
