10:52 , Jonathan Gorrie

Spurs in Rashford talks

07:56 , Alex Young

This is a surprise.

De Fanti told Caught Offside: “It seems there have been some discussions very recently between the player’s camp and Tottenham Hotspur. The London club feel negotiating a deal for Rashford is virtually impossible though – so that transfer no longer seems an option.”

He added: “United are confident a club is unlikely to pay [their £80m valuation], especially off the back of a poor season, so they’re almost certain he will stay. They are happy for Rashford to stay too, also because they know that if they did sell him, they would need to replace him and that is not a priority, definitely not this summer anyway.”

Chelsea ready to help Lukaku leave

Tuesday 7 June 2022 10:17 , Alex Young

Chelsea are willing to subsidise Romelu Lukaku’s wages in order to allow the striker to leave the club on loan, but would still demand that last summer’s marquee signing take a significant pay cut, reports Malik Ouzia.

Lukaku is hopeful of securing a return to Inter Milan just 12 months after his £97.5million switch to Stamford Bridge following a miserable campaign.

The 29-year-old reportedly earns more than £200,000-a-week at the Bridge, with Inter unable to afford either to cover the entirety of that salary or to fund a permanent transfer.

Lewandowski latest

Tuesday 7 June 2022 09:54 , Alex Young

Robert Lewandowski has stepped up efforts to leave Bayern, with Barcelona keen on signing him.

The striker is keen to find a solution as soon as possible, suggesting that players may be put off joining Bayern if they fail to show him respect when leaving.

Talking to Polish outlet Onet Sport, he said: “I just want to leave Bayern. Loyalty and respect are more important than the work. The best thing to do is find a solution together. They didn't want to listen to me until the end. Something died inside me - and it's impossible to get over that. Even if you want to be professional, you can't make up for it.

“During so many years at the club I was always ready, available, despite injuries and the pain, I gave my best. I think the best thing to do is to find a good solution for both sides. And not to look for a one-sided decision.

"I’m not looking for a unilateral solution, that makes no sense, not after so much time, after such a successful era and with my will and support.

"What kind of player will want to go to Bayern knowing that something like this could happen to them? Where are the loyalty and respect then? I was always been ready, I spent eight nice years here, I met wonderful people and I would like it to stay that way in my mind."
