With the Premier League’s summer transfer window already open, clubs are eyeing early business to recruit new players – and managers – especially with the 2018 World Cup on the horizon.

The biggest upheaval will be at Arsenal, where the club are on the lookout for a new manager for the first time in 22 years as well as players to strengthen their squad and put them back into the Champions League mix. The leading candidate to replace Arsene Wenger has emerged as former Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta, with just one thing standing between him and the job.

Manchester City may not have £300m to spend every window as Pep Guardiola claimed this week, but they still have considerable financial firepower to add even more quality to their squad. Rivals Manchester United are set to make moves in the transfer window to try and close the gap to City, while Liverpool – having already signed Naby Keita – will also be active with a huge financial windfall from reaching the Champions League final.
