Manchester United great Gary Neville has since come out on social media to defend the player and has urged him to consider taking legal action against the club.
Barcelona spent big on Leeds United star Raphinha and Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski as they look to compete for major honours once more. However, while the La Liga giants have gone all out with the cheque book, it appears they still haven't settled their debts with their current midfielder. De Jong agreed to have his wage deferred during the club's recent financial woes, but is yet to be paid.
De Jong should consider legal action v Barcelona and all players should be behind him!A club spending fortunes on new players whilst not paying the ones they have under contract their full money is immoral and a breach. @FIFPRO should be all over bullying like this and stop it.
