Well, where in the world did that come from?
Liverpool's trip to Watford on Monday night was quite the drab affair - in keeping with most of the Premier League football we've seen this weekend. But on the stroke of half time, the much-criticised Emre Can came up with a spectacular overhead kick that even had opposition fans drooling.
Twitter, as you would imagine, reacted in shock and awe. It certainly wasn't expected given the quality of football we've all been subjected to this weekend...
Ignore this. That goal was fucking ridiculous— Scott Saunders (@_scottsaunders) May 1, 2017
EMRE CAN F*CK YEAH! COMING AGAIN TO SAVE THE MOTHERF*CKING DAY!— Paddy Power (@paddypower) May 1, 2017
Where the fuck did Emre Can pull that from?!— Kevin Beirne (@KevBeirne) May 1, 2017
It was really just hard work and a Can-do attitude that led to that goal— Chris Deeley (@ThatChris1209) May 1, 2017
Lucas with a love ball in to Can for Liverpool's goal. It was the Brazilian's third assist in five games.— Paddy Power (@paddypower) May 1, 2017
Lucas. Three assists. Five games. pic.twitter.com/x2vk7UpxXs
You'd not blame Can for retiring at half-time after that goal. He's surely personally peaked.— James Dall (@JamesDallESPN) May 1, 2017
@NickMiller79 That goal has no place in this game. It must have slipped through a tear in the space-time continuum from another game.— Iain Macintosh (@iainmacintosh) May 1, 2017
