With the Champions League returning this week, following Juventus' impressive 3-0 win over Barcelona on Tuesday, Wednesday laid out yet another great night of football action in front of hordes of adoring fans.

Of course, there was an extra match on Wednesday due to Borussia Dortmund's home tie versus Monaco being pushed back a day in the wake of Tuesday's shocking bomb attack on the team bus. The away side won this one with a 3-2 scoreline, as young sensation Kylian Mbappe put on yet another suberb show.

German champions Bayern Munich then played host to holders Real Madrid, while Leicester City paid a visit to the Vicente Calderon to take on Spanish powerhouse Atletico Madrid.

The Foxes were able to restrict Atletico to just one goal, heading back to England with a 1-0 deficit, but a big slice of hope. And as for Real Madrid, they staged a great comeback against Carlo Ancelotti's side, going down 1-0 in the first half only to storm back come the second via a clinical brace from Cristiano Ronaldo.
