Liverpool has two representatives in Harry Redknapp's Premier League Team of the Week after Arne Slot's side beat Bournemouth 3-0 at Anfield. Luis Diaz scored twice while Darwin Nunez netted a stunning strike with his weaker left foot.

However, only one of the Reds' scorers made it into the team. Diaz was selected, while right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold also made the side. As he outlined to reporters including from Liverpool.com post-match, Alexander-Arnold has been working hard with Slot behind the scenes on his defensive play and Redknapp, speaking to Bet Victor, thinks that is paying off.

"Alexander-Arnold gets involved in so many goals, his quality is outstanding, but what I also liked was how he defended against Bournemouth," Redknapp said. "There’s not many who can combine those two things with such stunning results. Trent makes great runs with the ball, he never stops and he’s such an intelligent player."

Liverpool raced into a 3-0 lead in the first half against Bournemouth with Diaz scoring twice in as many minutes. And it was therefore no surprise that he too makes the team.

"Diaz has scored five goals for Liverpool in the opening five games this season," Redknapp said. "Only Michael Owen and Mohamed Salah have bettered that.

"After that frustrating defeat by Nottingham Forest last weekend the team had to get a result against Bournemouth. Who better than the Colombian to fire a couple in within 120 seconds of each other? I’m picking him again this week, it’s impossible not to!"

Redknapp's Team of the Week in full: Dean Henderson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ezri Konsa, Gabriel, Destiny Udogie; Emile Smith Rowe, James Maddison, Cole Palmer; Ollie Watkins, Nicolas Jackson, Luis Diaz.

Liverpool.com says: The Reds were much better than against Nottingham Forest this time around at Anfield (to say the least!). Proving that the dismal 1-0 defeat a week earlier was a one-off straight away was ideal for the Liverpool to make its home ground a fortress again as quickly as possible.
