Two men were taken to hospital after crashing their car during a police chase near Bicester.

Thames Valley Police said the driver, a 26-year-old man from Clifton Hampden, had been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and taken to hospital 'as a precaution'.

His passenger was also hospitalised with a minor ankle injury and has since been discharged.

The vehicle had failed to stop for police officers in Murdock Road, Bicester, just before 6.15pm on Sunday evening (September 24), a police spokesman said.

The vehicle was later found crashed into two parked cars in Launton, a village just outside the town.

Thames Valley Police said a mandatory referral had been made to the police watchdog, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, as the collision followed a police pursuit.
